French is the official language. There are many ethnic groups and different languages but Wolof and Fula are the most important ones.

Poverty, unemployment, poor education and health facilities are big problems .
They have some factories such as fish processing, phosphate mining, fertilizer production, petroleum refining, construction materials, ship construction and repair. Also they produce peanuts, sugarcane, cotton, green beans, industrial tomato, cherry tomato, melon, and mango .
Senegalese people have a great sense of Rhythm
They can dance, play music with instruments made of natural materials. They also wear masks which represent feelings or wishes.
